Thanks for praying! We had a great conversation with Adam yesterday. We talked for about 20 minutes. The connection was great and he sounded good. He said that he has received packages and phone cards from different people and says “thanks”. One comment on the phones cards - they have to be AT&T, that is the only kind that will work on their base. He was able to give some of the other cards to another Marine from Metamora who is headed home. This Marine will be able to use them from other places. Also, if the cards don’t have enough minutes, he can’t even get a connection and the time is gone. He suggested at least 500 minutes per card. That will give him about 30 minutes of phone time.
He said the weather is cooler! It was only 100 yesterday and only got to 126 this week. He is thankful for some relief. He had the afternoon off and was just thinking about home. He would rather be working, the time goes faster and there is less time to think about home. He is thinking a lot about fall and the change of seasons. We sent him some pictures of deer and he has them tacked up above his bed.
