Still no news. Just keep praying. Send a note or a card if you can. The commanders just keep emphasizing the importance of mail. Our guys need your encouragement and support. Cards mailed now will probably still get to him by Christmas. Just send one and keep sending mail regularly.

Please pray right now for
1. Encouragement while all are away from home
2. Endurance to finish the job that needs to be done
3. Protection from attack both physically and spiritually

We are so thankful for you.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

November 26. 2004
We haven't heard any news. Our electricity was out for 25 hours -starting the 24 - 25, 2004. So that's why no update. Then there was a problem with the internet at the home office and we had no internet after we finally got electricity. We were so thankful for the crews from the power company who worked on Thanksgiving to get us electricity.
We know that Adam is still near or in Fallujah. We don't know anything other than that someone from his platoon went to his home base to get supplies for their platoon. He was supposed to have turkey yesterday, but we don't know if he did or not. We got a letter from Major Quehl and he said that the troops can still get mail - so keep the cards and letter coming. There isn't much communication out of Iraq, but everything is still getting into the country. They try to deliver mail to the men off base periodically. I don't know how he felt being away from home for Thanksgiving, but it was tough on us as a family. This was the first year ever that we haven't been together.
Major Quehl left this message
"Thank you for all your support with care packages and letters. You are doing such a good job that that I can safely say that we have enough of some items to last us another two months. We have set up shelves in each of the barracks with extra items on them so all Marines can get what ever they need. Some of the items that you should hold off sending for a while are: tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, shaving cream, hard candy, and baby wipes.
Thank you all for sending packages!

Please pray for
1. Safety and comfort. The weather is very windy and rainy and getting cooler.
2. All the families who have lost their sons or daughters and are spending the Holidays without them for the first time.
3. All our Men and Women away from their loved ones during the Holiday Season.

Thank you all for praying and caring.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

We had a call from Adam about 5 am this morning! It was so great just to hear his voice. We last talked to him 5 weeks ago. He could tell us that he is still in Fallujah. He said that there is still alot of activity, but it is much better than it was. He sounded good and said that he is well. All communication is down in Fallujah of course, but they had a few phones that they were passing around so that the troops could call home.
We are so thankful for technology that allows communication from across the world. The connection was great with no delays, so our conversation really flowed. He talked most of the time and that was encouraging to us. He had heard about the TV interview that Rod had done. (Rod has put it on DVD and we'll be mailing a copy to him. He can watch it when he gets back on base.) Adam is very disturbed about the media coverage of the Fallujah activity. We assured him of our support of all the troops. He has no idea when he may be back on base.

Thank you all so much for praying. Please pray right now -
1. For safety and assurance for each of our troops. For good decision making in rapidly changing circumstances.
2. For each Marine involved in this media problem. For assurance for the ones involved and their families.
3. Thank God for technology and the ability to communicate.

We are thankful for each one of you.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

Just wanted to let you know that we got a short email from Adam this morning. He assures us that he is OK. He has been really busy and has had several missions.
We still don't know where he is right now, but it is great to know that he is OK. He hopes to be able to call us soon.

Please pray
1. For all out troops. For safety and comfort, attention and assurance
2. That God's presence right beside them would be very evident to them
3. For Corporal Palmer's family - his funeral is today.
4. For military leadership and for President Bush

Thank you so much for praying. We are thankful for you.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

Just to let you know that we haven't heard anything new. From the news, Fallujah is settling down and that is great news.

It would be great if he had a bunch of mail from home when he returns to base. If you can mail him a card or a note, I know that he will very much appreciate it.

Please keep praying for
1. Safety and alertness
2. Spiritual closeness and comfort

We appreciate all of you.

Jill

Keep praying for
1. Safety and wisdom, alertness, rest and assurance.
2. For the families that have lost their loved ones

Thanks for praying.

Today is Veteran's Day - it means something totally different to our family this year. What a great sacrifice over the years to defend my freedom.

Channel 25 will be doing a special spot on the 10 pm news honoring C Company. They came and interviewed Rod on the perspective of having a son in conflict. You may want to tune in. Starting tomorrow morning, you can watch the spot on the net. I'll send the address tomorrow.

Please pray right now
1. Thank God for the sacrifice over the years in defending our freedom.
2. for the families who are experiencing this Veteran's Day with the heaviest of hearts as their sons or daughters have given their lives for you and my freedom.
3. For the conflict in Fallujah - to be done quickly and efficiently, for safety and protection of all those in that city, for wisdom and leadership, for alertness, for rest and refreshment to get the job done.

Thank you for being faithful to Adam and our family. You will never know how much we appreciate you and thank God for you.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

Thank you so much for praying. These have been some of the hardest days of our lives. We know for certain where Adam is. A member of his company from Michigan was killed yesterday when his bull dozer slipped off the bank of the Euphrates River just outside of Fallujah and he drowned. Please pray for his family. His name was Joshua Palmer. I am sure all of our guys knew him. He joined C Company just before they deployed this summer.

Please continue to pray for
1. Safety and certainty, focus and alertness, rest and refreshment, comfort
2. For the family of Corporal Palmer
3. For quick resolution to the Fallujah situation.

Please pray right now and continue to pray.
We're so thankful for you and it is a comfort to know you all are praying.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

We have heard some news from C Company. Adam's unit is moving forward. We are almost certain we know where. Please be in prayer as so many of our Marines are in harms way. We are certain that God is right there with all of them.

Mike Miller from the Peoria Journal Star did an article on Adam and how the war affects his walk with God. If you click on this link to the Peoria Journal Star
you can read the article. We thought that he did a great job. We hear so much about bad journalism - we thought it was very well written.

Please pray right now for
1. Safety and protection.
2. Peace of heart and soul that only God can give.

We are so thankful for all of you.

Trusting in Christ's love and protection,
Jill

My nephew, Jeremy, called my sister yesterday. He is still on base. He did say that every night they get a call from Adam's group and they know that he is OK. That was great news!
We are so thankful that he was able to get us that bit of news.
Please continue to pray for all of our troops. The time is just about 12 hours ahead of us. So our mornings are Adam's evenings - his evenings are our mornings. Just remember to pray in the evening for every Marine and soldier as they start their day and when you get up in the morning, pray that they will all be able to rest well and be safe.
We are so thankful for all of you.
Please pray right now for
1. Protection and wisdom for all our troops and leaders. For rest, encouragement and safety.
2. For President Bush as he leads our country
3. Thank God for our freedom and all the faithful that have defended our freedom over the years.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

Just a quick note to ask you to pray for our Marines in and near Fallujah. The battle may be this weekend. If you remember my last message, we are fairly certain our Marine is very near this site. We don't know for sure, but we are concerned. The news is certainly very disturbing as to the safety of our troops around this city.
Please pray right now for safety and wisdom for all our troops. Pray for the emergency personel on staff to care for Marines that need them. Pray for protection of innocent women and children.
We are just trusting that God is in control. And it is very encouraging to us to know that you all are praying.

Thanks for praying right now.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill

We got an email from Adam! We were so excited to hear from him. He is not on base and we still don't know where he is. We do know that he is building bunkers and filling sandbags. You can use your own mind to imagine where he is.
He sounded good and was working hard.

Please remember to keep praying. If you are going to send anything over for Christmas, it should be mailed by November 11 if you want it to get there for Christmas. Please send him a card - to get a stack of cards is so encouraging to all of the troups! It only takes about 2 weeks to get letters or cards.

Please pray
1. For protection, alertness and calmness for Adam and all the troups
2. Pray for the voids of home to somehow be filled as the Holidays are coming up.
3. Pray for the families of those that gave their lives to defend our freedom. They will be having an especially hard time this season.
4. Thank God for our free nation and for all the men and women who have sacrificed over the years to defend that freedom. Freedom truly isn't free.

We thank you all for praying - keep it up. To know that people are praying for Adam is so encouraging to our family.

In Christ's love and protection,
Jill
